Childhood
I am from worriless days,
Not a complication in the world,
To being for “taking the winding road”.
I am from dreaming of being older,
Wanting to grow up more than anything,
To being for wishing time slowed down.
I am from hours locked-up inside,
Nothing for light but my television,
To being for taking every day possible to bike.
From wanting to ride the Ferris wheel,
From wanting to ride the Ferris wheel,
Terrified of the roller coasters,
To being for the adrenaline rush that that sense of danger brings.
I am from seed-polluted watermelons,
Ruby flavor dripping down my lips, fiery, sweat-inducing sun at my back,
Which caused for me to be from stains of every color,
Tie-dying my shirt, far better than any artist could,
To being for cleanliness: But only when needed.
I am for where I am from.
