A cold embrace,
The jagged, frozen tree-branches,
Causing apples to fall.
Halt all growth to this call.
A cold embrace,
Spreading frost,
And ice blocks,
Upon every stream.
No more skipping rocks.
A cold embrace,
Causing ice to encrust,
Changing metal to rust,
Being entombed,
In a frozen carapace,
Glossy like brand-new dimes.
A cold embrace,
Is just a synonym,
For you to take up wool thread,
And lie by the fire stead,
All Christmas break.
